Donkey Island is a very charming island that attracts the attention of many tourists and is inhabited by very few people. This island, which is close to the Çeşme district of İzmir, is visited by day trips.

Where is Donkey Island?

In the Aegean Sea, near İzmir, large and small islands and islets caught your attention. One of these islands is Eşek Island, which is famous for its beautiful beaches and coves. Eşek Island, with an area of 13.5 kilometers, is a Turkish island close to the Dodecanese Islands of Greece. It consists of two districts, Megálo Chorió i.e. Big Village and Mikró Chorió i.e. Small Village.

The island got its name from here. It hosts many festivals and social events. The most well-known festival is the Alaçatı Herb Festival. In this festival, which reflects the culture and traditions of the region in the best way, interviews are held and stands are opened. In addition, enjoyable competitions are held on the last days of the festival.
